how to help with the mask-ne

First off, I’ve struggled with sensitive skin for ages. Like really, I cannot remember when I even had clear skin at this point. (Queue me crying but it’s ok, I guess.) I AM OVER THESE MASKS, DUDE. like I’m really going insane over here. I’m all for wearing the masks to be safe but like gah damn the mask acne is so real., so just wanted to say, hey, if it’s happening to you, too, we’re in it together.

some lil tips i’ve been using to “help” as best as I can & not break your bank:

I recently purchased some really nice, breathable, cozy masks & I think ya need them to.

Kitsch – 3pack: so comfy & easy to wash (MAKE SURE, guys, that you use one of those little baggy thangs in the wash to zip these guys up so that they don’t rip off the strings, ok?? v important)

this is the color pack i got, you can copy me, it’s ok.

Clean your masks, as much as possible. Bacteria is just lingering on these guys all the time. Hang them up to dry from sweat. Wash them in those lil baggies as much as you can. (that’s the good thing about having 3)

Regardless of this mask-wearing time, you should buy a Satin Pillowcase. Not only does it help prevent breakouts, but it’s also great for your hair. Kitsch also sells a great one. You’ll thank me later.

Take your damn makeup off before you go to bed. This is really just a good rule of thumb in general.

Use skincare that is good for you & not awful for the environment. Recently, I’ve been using The Ordinary products & I’ve really liked them. They are vegan, cruelty free, & they’re SO AFFORDABLE.

Hylauronic Acid – ok, so a makeup artist once told me I had to use this, so like of course I’m going to believe her, & I bought it, & yep she was right. HA replenishes lost moisture, maintain healthy-looking skin, and provides enhanced barrier support. mhm yes, hunni I need some moista.

Niacinimide – This reduces signs of congestion (yasss we need that ) while balancing visible sebum activity. Niacinamide has also been shown to offer brightening benefits. AND this shit is vegan & cruelty-free? mhm yes, please.

Salicylic Acid Face Mask – enhances the appearance of a smooth and clear complexion, while leaving the skin feeling refreshed. Charcoal and clays are ingredients renowned for their deep cleansing abilities; they aid the removal of facial impurities that would otherwise remain on the skin’s surface and clog pores. [it’s like they knew that these masks would do just this :P]

Use your preferred SPF ON YOUR FACE DAILY! This not only protects your skin from the sun, but also from UV rays from our screens. (I’m really loving supergoop)

Lastly, STAY HYDRATED – this will help improve the hydration in your skin, especially when these masks are drying out faces out. This can also help improve your immune function, which we definitely want to be doing right now 😉

I hope this helps! Please leave comments with any of YOUR favorite recommendations or questions 🙂 I’m one click away

xx

love, Jenny
